Abstract:
Introduction: Extensive research over the past years has reflected that Coenzyme Q10 (abbreviated as CoQ10), is lipophilic, similar to vitamins, present in eukaryotic cells, acts as the chief element in the electron transport chain and is involved in aerobic respiration, producing energy (ATP). Therefore, CoQ10 is required in all energy based processes in the heart, including heart muscle contraction and the functioning of ATP regulated membrane channels.
